What Is KYBELLA?

Just a small amount of extra fat in the upper neck area can cause the appearance of the dreaded "double chin." The excess pockets of fat under the chin (also known as the submental area) can be caused by weight fluctuations, aging, or genetics that lead to a weaker chin and jawline for a less-defined profile. We are happy to offer a revolutionary solution to this problem at Allure Medical Spa in Gillette, WY. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration, KYBELLA is the first nonsurgical treatment for upper neck fat. The active component in KYBELLA is a synthetic version of deoxycholic acid, which works like the body's natural DA to dissolve and absorb fat cells. After it is injected under the chin, you may see a visible decrease in fat volume. The fat cells fade away and cannot reform so you can enjoy a slimmer, more well-defined neck and jawline for years to come.

What are the Benefits of KYBELLA?

Compared to invasive cosmetic surgery and other double chin treatment options, KYBELLA boasts a number of exciting benefits for slimming the neckline, including:

  • Completely nonsurgical
  • No incisions, general anesthesia, or scarring
  • Minimally invasive
  • Treatment takes just minutes
  • Optimal outcome is often achieved after a single treatment
  • Results can last for years or even decades
  • Fat cells will not regenerate
  • Creates a slimmer, smoother, sexier neckline
  • Boosts self-confidence

Am I A Candidate for KYBELLA?

The best candidates for KYBELLA treatments in Gillette, WY have additional fat in the upper throat (submental area), which causes unwanted fullness or a double chin. This injection corrects stubborn pockets of fat that can't be minimized with usual weight loss techniques due to genetics, aging, and other conditions. If you are at a healthy weight but have not been exercising and eating enough to reduce the fat in your submental area, KYBELLA may be the right procedure for your goals. While KYBELLA can treat small or moderate amounts of fat in the submental area, significant pockets of fat may be better suited for surgical treatments.

What Should I Expect During KYBELLA Treatments?

KYBELLA injections are performed during an appointment in one of our private treatment rooms. We will typically apply a numbing ointment to the injection area (if desired) once the skin has been cleaned. The procedure lasts about 15 minutes and includes several small injections targeting the upper neck area. Patients may require only a single treatment to achieve their goal while others may need multiple treatments spaced three weeks apart at Allure Medical Spa.

KYBELLA injections don't need general anesthesia so you can leave our office when you are comfortable and get back to your day. You may have short-term numbness, bruising, or swelling under your chin, but this shouldn't last longer than a few days. Contact Allure Medical Spa right away if you notice any unusual side effects, like facial muscle weakness, difficulty swallowing, or if your smile is uneven. While the fat cells that are eliminated do not regenerate, the cells that remain can become larger so you need to keep a steady weight after your KYBELLA treatments to keep new pockets of fat from forming. Optimal results will leave your neck looking sleeker and slimmer and your neckline more defined.

How much does KYBELLA cost?

KYBELLA treatment costs will depend on how many treatments are needed. During your consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be created to fit your goals. A member of our staff can also review payment options with you during your first appointment.

How does KYBELLA work?

The active ingredient in KYBELLA, deoxycholic acid, works to break down fat cells in the upper neck. Once they are destroyed, these cells cannot regenerate. Therefore, additional treatments should not be necessary as soon as you have met your goal.

Can KYBELLA be used to treat other areas of the body?

Currently, KYBELLA may only be used to treat the upper neck. KYBELLA can effectively minimize the appearance of a double chin. KYBELLA hasn't been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use on any other areas of the body.

How many treatment sessions will I need?

During your initial consultation, a personalized treatment plan will be developed to meet your needs and goals. Usually, patients receive between 2 – 4 KYBELLA injections to achieve their goals.
